Simple software, plain terms

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the PaperDrawer app, website, and related project materials.

Effective September 10, 2026

Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using PaperDrawer, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

What PaperDrawer provides

PaperDrawer is a document-capture and organization tool. It can scan pages, recognize text, create document metadata, search an archive, and export files. No account is required.

Your documents and responsibilities

You retain responsibility for the documents you scan and store. You must have the right to capture and process them, follow applicable laws and obligations, protect access to your device and Apple Account, and maintain any backups you need.

Do not use PaperDrawer to violate another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, contractual duties, or applicable law.

OCR and generated metadata

Text recognition, titles, summaries, categories, and keywords can be incomplete or inaccurate. Review important information against the original document. PaperDrawer is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and it should not be your only copy of a critical record.

Apple services

Features such as iCloud, CloudKit, iCloud Drive, Files, Apple Intelligence, and App Store distribution are provided by Apple and may be subject to Apple's availability, settings, and terms. The PaperDrawer project does not control those services.

Source code and content

Any license included in the PaperDrawer repository governs use of the source code covered by that license. Until a license is included, no permission to copy, modify, or distribute the source code is granted merely because the repository is publicly visible. App names, site copy, graphics, and other materials may have separate rights.

Availability and changes

PaperDrawer may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Features can vary by device, operating-system version, region, Apple Intelligence availability, and iCloud configuration. These terms may be updated by posting a revised version with a new effective date.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaperDrawer is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the PaperDrawer project maintainers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, records, profits, or opportunity arising from use of the app or website.

Contact

For questions about these terms, open an issue in the PaperDrawer repository. Do not post private document content or sensitive personal information.
